Our model, The Liberty TM (our biggest tiny home), can be hauled with a ¾ ton truck. It weighs in just below 8,000 lbs. without belongings. The trailer for this model is built to hold 15,000 lbs.
Research your desired make and model for the right truck that will pull that amount of weight. Of course, if you choose a smaller model, you will require less.
Wood interior is highly recommended for a tiny home that resides on a trailer. A tiny home that is affixed to a trailer must be built to withstand wind speeds on the roads. The drywall interior you find in traditional homes could crack over time, whereas a wood finish would withstand and flex to the slight movement it will endure in travel.
Check out our tiny house building plan for The Liberty TM! More plans coming soon. You can also purchase plans from various websites which offer a variety of different options.
You can build a tiny house yourself for less than $30,000, depending on the size and features. For top of the line features and a decent size, we offer an 8.5’x24’ fully equipped tiny house for $62,000 [Now on sale for only $54,900!].
While some tiny homes are built on trailers, others are built on a traditional foundation similar to larger homes. Our homes are not manufactured; they are meticulously hand-crafted legitimate homes with the same basic functions of a traditional house. Tiny homes on wheels average 200 square feet, with even a few below 120 square feet. They feature everything you would need, at a smaller size and an even smaller price tag.
